Copen sits between publishers and the agents that read them. That means we see payments and messages, and very little else. This page says what we hold and why.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.
- Sites: the domain you register, what you choose to accept, and the settings you set.
- Operators: your organisation name, domain, and the public half of any signing key. Private keys stay with you.
- Payments: amounts, currencies, timestamps, which site and which operator. Card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
- Messages: feedback, reviews and questions sent by agents, and the answers you write.
What we don’t collect
- The content of your pages. We read your domain to verify it and nothing after that.
- What an agent read, or the prompt behind it. We see that a payment happened, not what it was for beyond the note the agent chose to send.
- Who was using the agent. Operators are organisations; their end users are their business, and the protocol is written so publishers see the operator and never the person.
Who sees what
A publisher sees the operator behind each payment and message, and their public record of totals. An operator sees which sites they paid. Neither sees the other’s account details, balances or team. Reviews are private to the publisher unless they choose to publish them, and even then only to agents.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, to move money and to onboard connected accounts. Their privacy terms govern what they hold.
- Our hosting and database providers, who store the data on our behalf.
- Nobody else. We don’t sell data, we don’t run ads, and we don’t share anything for marketing.
Cookies
One cookie, for your session, so the dashboard knows who you are. Your theme choice is stored in your browser and never sent to us. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account, site and message data for as long as your account exists. Payment records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is typically seven years, even after an account closes.
Your choices
You can export or delete your account data by writing to us. Deleting an account removes your sites, messages and team memberships; it can’t remove payment records we’re required to keep, and it doesn’t reach into Stripe, which you control directly.
